There is always a steady flow of competition in the teacher’s job market. The fact remains that the competition would remain as tough in the teaching positions. Competition is fierce for Humanities, English, Social Sciences and also in the primary grades. The teachers will have to look into the presentation of their testimonials and their skill sets well, in a very detailed manner on their resume. They must ensure that they can complete for the best positions in the educational system.

If you are a teacher looking for a job, you have to write a resume that is specific for the teaching opportunities. You have to highlight the educational qualifications.

You have to add the details first. The details would include the name of the school, the year of graduation, the subject of graduation, the degree earned for teacher’s training, mentioning, the honors, scholarship, fellowships awarded for the course.

If you are experienced and have been teaching long, you must mention the educational courses you have undergone and the seminars you have attended to let your employers know that you have been keeping up to date with sharpening your skills.

Suppose you have limited teaching experience and you are a newer graduate, mention of a few related courses will help to enhance your abilities and qualifications to your employers. Graduates completing their degrees with excellent marks should highlight the facts to the employer. Teachers who are done with the process of getting the license for teaching should provide the details of that to the employer. The employer would ask you for a copy of that license.

Emphasis should be there on your expertise and skills. Your resume should include the most important keywords that speak about your qualifications and teaching experiences. The most important way is to include this in your resume. You should incorporate a list of key skills and expertise in your résumé. That should be mentioned using a bulleted list mentioning all your specializations and if there are any relevant skills that can also be mentioned.

If you have several years of experience in teaching you can add that to your resume specifying the number of years of experience in a field. This could be two years of experience in teaching biology in the Middle school and three years of teaching chemistry at the senior school.

The teachers at the entry level will not have similar experience and they can express their expertise over the years in highlighting the areas worked for like working as a student aid, mentorship training and teaching rotations.

Most Administrators would hire teachers who have a previous experience in a specific area or grade and employers would need to know the details of this experience.

Apart from being a teacher you can mention that you can be a top performer. Schools administrators would look for teachers who are willing to give the best for the betterment of the school. They are willing to do something for the school apart from the day to day responsibilities of teaching.

Thus a teacher’s job would be to look into the all round betterment of the school and she should mention relevant qualities when she is working on the resume.
